Today, I was patrolling the transfer point again and I got ensnared in a conversation with one of the riders, who was quite clearly not right in the head. At first, he was just going on about the problems we had been having down at that area and how he gets angry at the kids for being so stupid.

Today at work I had to have a couple kids arrested. I was supervising a transfer point for my transit agency and two young girls began shouting at each other over something stupid.

Today on a whim I picked up the DVD of Return to Oz. If you are not familiar with this film, it was based off of the next two books in the Oz series after the Wizard of Oz.

Well, I finally got a decent computer again, and I've been playing on it far too much. I have spent so much time on the Internet this last week it is ridiculous.

I am so excited! My little sister is driving up to Madison to spend Easter with me! She wants to go out to eat, so now I have to pick a restaurant (I’ve tried none of them) that will actually be open that day.

It is strange that I haven’t been blogging more now that I am no longer a data gypsy. I think it probably has to do with the fact that I’ve been working on some fiction recently so when I feel compelled to write I work on that.

Well, I have returned to the Internet, and much has changed in the interim. I got the Madison job and have started training as an Operations Supervisor at Madison Metro. It’s a really cool place and everyone is super friendly and helpful.

I have been reading blogs again after a short hiatus and in catching up with the material I missed I have encountered several entries regarding gaming. The question that seems to arise from all of them is: why do men get so drawn into these video games?

Whoo-hoo! I finally got my new glasses! I can see without squinting again and computer work does not hurt anymore. I can read and type longer and longer before I get tired.

Recently I attended a party being thrown by a coworker’s girlfriend. D invited me along so he would have someone to talk to as his girlfriend was the only person there that he knew.

So I am applying for this job up in Madison. I would be doing transit management, like I do here, but I would be at a slightly lower level. That is fine as I would be moving to a bigger system.

I have not been posting much recently because that which I have dreaded has occurred. I broke down and purchased an Xbox. For two weeks it has owned my soul, but I have begun to regain some of my independence.

Sunday night was quite an adventure. I was working in the bookstore, as I am wont to do on weekends and I was straightening the books in the history section, which is right by our restrooms.

I have been having a lot of nightmares about work recently. Weird stuff in which friends and colleagues turn on me. The worst part about it is that when I wake up I have a lot of trouble seperating which memos and conversations I actually had and which ones I merely dreamed.

So I was looking through some old photos last night and found a photo with a note on back from my friend who I will call Robin. The note said, “Where is my geisha shirt?

Okay, I was just reading a Wired article about some Australian scientists that are trying to grow a “stitchless [and] victimless” leather coat from living human and mouse cells. You can find the article here.

I have found that listening to the Clash or Morphine is particularly good for repetitive paperwork. The fast reggae-punk of the Clash and the sultry sound of the saxaphone in Morphine’s music get you into a groove that makes the process of data entry, filing and processing go so much faster.

I came in to the bookstore tonight and saw a large memo plastered to the breakroom wall. Attn Booksellers: We cannot ship nudie mags to jails and prisons. We can try, but they are invariably returned.

Okay, I have a confession. Please do not hold it against me, but I am a Data Gypsy. I have no computer of my own due to a long series of unfortunate mishaps so I must travel and use what computing resources are available to me.
