Simon Willison linked to this and I had to as well. It really is amazing how many people didn’t get the joke. Willison says, “It’s fascinating reading all the complaints on this thread—partly due to different international senses of humour, and partly just because as Flickr became more mainstream it attracted users who never picked up the sense of fun at the center of the Flickr brand.” This is a struggle I suspect every community based site has to contend with as it grows.
