I recently learned about the online service Second Life. This must be one of the most bizarre things I have encountered online. For those of you unfamiliar with this service, Second Life is essentially a complex 3D digital environment where you can create your own completely customizable avatar, and by avatar I don’t mean an icon, but a fully realized 3D digital body.

I am an adult, and I can admit a mistake. When I first signed up for webhosting with Logjamming, I was really excited. I liked their personality and I dug the idea of working with an independent hosting service catered to creative geeks.

Last night before bed I listened to the most recent episode of Dragon Page Wingin’ It, which I highly recommend that you go download and listen to. It’s chock full of hilarity, and plenty of sweet geeky goodness.

Many years ago, I was driving through the suburbs of Chicago with my girlfriend at the time and I saw what had to be a very profitable arrangement. Driving down the road I noticed a retirement home coming up on my right.

Yet another link I found through Boing Boing to an open letter addressed to Hillary Clinton regarding the whole GTA controversy. The letter is written by Steven Johnson, author of Everything Bad Is Good For You, and I think he puts the whole issue into perspective quite nicely.

“Can’t you see? He has the mind of a child!” Or rather, the RIAA does. Seriously, this is just getting ridiculous. The RIAA has done it again, and yes, they made bunny cry.

I just came across this Boing Boing post that says that Ron Jeremy may be getting his own reality show on ABC. You can read the Boing Boing entry here.

Hmm, yes. I have changed my theme yet again. Almost immediately after saying I was going to stick with the last one. The last theme, while I liked it visually, it was just a little too fluid, which seemed to make the posts blend together in a weird way.

While I was reading over Boing Boing today, I came across this little blurb about about a group of model airplane hackers who have constructed replicas of Star Wars space ships that actually fly!

I found this article on Wired.com all about research into human lifestyles using customized life styles to store data on social networking, sleep patterns and other activities. The author suggests in the near future we will be data mining, archiving and distributing all aspects of our lives.

Oh my God! Total fanboy moment! They have just posted the trailer for the film version of V for Vendetta, based off of the classic graphic novel by Alan Moore. I am so freaking excited now it’s ridiculous.

I know just about everyone has done this with their website at least once, but I have to post this link. You may not be aware of a site called Gizoogle, which runs a Google search and translates all the results into Snoop Dogg slang.

Hmm… I am liking this new look. It is still just a WordPress template, but I’ve made a few little modifications to it and written a few extra functions for WordPress to use in order to facilitate the process.

Whew! I have finally moved all of my Blogger entries and loaded them onto the MySQL server. It took many hours of tedious copy and paste work, but I think it is worth it to bring all that stuff with me to my new home.

Yes, indeedy! I have my own domain now. Expect many things to appear here in the future including a diplomacy game server as well as other fun development related stuff. Slowly I will get all my old Blogger entries over to this server.
