Well, I made it. I survived my trip.

Actually, I never had any doubt that I would survive my trip. But my car survived, which is more than I expected. For all of its mechanical problems my little rattling death machine successfully limped down to Cedar Rapids, where I switched to my dad’s car for the rest of the way to Des Moines. Luckily, my dad and I were able to tinker with the car a little bit this weekend as well, so it limped much faster on the trip back to Madison.

I am pleased with this, although getting a new car has moved to priority one on my list of planned expenses.

The wedding was a lot of fun. Well, actually, the wedding and reception itself was pretty standard fare, but it was really nice seeing two friends who love each other very much take their vows, plus I got to see a lot of people from my Cambus days there. Although I felt much more detached from them then I expected to, which made conversation awkward. Still I enjoyed myself.

Father’s Day was also fun. I took my sister and dad out to see Batman Begins, and afterwards we went to a Japanese restaurant for drinks and sushi.

I also broke my family-only rule Father’s Day night, but I think my CR friends will forgive me. You see, my friend Jenny, who lives in New York City was by coincidence in Iowa at the same time so we got together for a few hours as well. Although we were both so exhausted we had to cut it short as stood around yawning as we talked and dozing off during Episode III.

All in all, it was a very good weekend.

Seriously, this is ridiculous. It was cute at first getting the occasional spammer. I even took some delight in moderating their comments as spam and banishing them to the WordPress netherworld, but it is starting to get a little time consuming.
