More Zombie Fun

I just found out about this game called Urban Dead from a post on Boing Boing. Urban Dead is an MMO that runs in your browser. It’s actually pretty low tech, but fun in a weird way. You play either a survivor or a zombie amidst an undead apocolypse. You fight your way through the city killing zombies (or humans if you play the other side), upgrading your skills with your experience.

The really nifty thing is that it all happens realtime, so if you sit around trying to decide what to do, the zombie player could choose to wail on you as much as they like, so you have to think quickly. Also, since it is realtime, if you are logging out, you better make sure your player is in a safe place like a secured building or you may login to find that your character is toast. You can make alliances with other players and work together or I suppose if you’re really nasty take out the living to strip them for supplies. I’d recommend working with others as much as you can though, because unless you build up enough experience to buy advanced skills you will run out of your daily allotment of action points and then your opponents will simply walk up and shoot you in your head, effectively stopping your black traitor’s heart.
