Daniel Andrlik lives in the suburbs of Philadelphia. By day he manages product teams. The rest of the time he is a podcast host and producer, writer of speculative fiction, a rabid reader, and a programmer.

My neighbors downstairs are fairly new to our complex, they only moved in a couple of weeks ago and they irritate the hell out of me.

First of all, they are a large family, which is fine, but the kids are loud and all over the place, which is not so cool. Don’t get me wrong, I like kids well enough, but I really prefer to live in quiet place.

Secondly, they play their music very loud, which is frustrating as my complex is pretty good at dampening sound, so if I can hear their music it must be blaring. I could even deal with it if it was music with variety, but as near as I can tell it is the same god damn song being played over and over and over again.

I have talked to them about it once and it did get a little better, but its still a bit of a problem. However, I think I’ve worked out the perfect volume for my music such that it drowns out their music without being detectable outside of my apartment.

Seriously, this is ridiculous. It was cute at first getting the occasional spammer. I even took some delight in moderating their comments as spam and banishing them to the WordPress netherworld, but it is starting to get a little time consuming.
