Daniel Andrlik
Author
Daniel Andrlik lives in the suburbs of Philadelphia. By day he manages product teams. The rest of the time he is a podcast host and producer, writer of speculative fiction, a rabid reader, and a programmer.

I just got home from seeing The Island.

Official Verdict: Meh.

This was a mediocre action movie at best, with the potential for an interesting storyline, but the screenplay and directing strangles the concept. The incompetence of the director leaves the excellent cast crippled in their performances.

Ultimately this was a disappointing movie, and I am glad I only paid a matinee price.

I would write a more thorough review, but to be honest, this film is not worth the effort.

I just got back from the midnight showing of Serenity, and it kicked my ass. I really really enjoyed it. I was a bit worried going into it, and I hope that the emotional impact of the film is as significant for those who haven’t seen the series, but I think it turned into a great sci-fi flick.
