Found this via Dvorak’s blog: What American accent do you have? Your Result: The Midland "You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas.

I was just perusing some of my Statcounter data when I came across this search string a Canadian used to find my site. It’s far from the most bizarre thing I’ve seen in my search results, but it is notable for its specificity.

How many times have you googled yourself? Too embarrassed to say? Same here. I suppose just about everyone with a connection to the Internet has been guilty of a little ego-surfing once in a while.

Today, I finally got my Google Analytics invite. I can’t remember when I first applied for it, but it must have been several months ago. I have heard tales on the web that GA is slow and can bog down page loading, but I haven’t noticed any difference since I added the code to my template.

Google Calendar was released today. Full review to follow. :) UPDATE: Review will be posted next week. I’ve got a lot to say about it, but I want to spend a few more days trying it out before I commit my thoughts to non-paper.

I cannot remember how I initially heard about Krugle, but I’m glad that I did. For those of you who haven’t heard of this service (which may be many of you), Krugle is a service that aims to be the search engine for developers, and it appears to be well on its way.

It is with some trepidation that I set out to review the developer preview of the Flock browser. It hardly seems fair, does it? After all, the public beta isn’t scheduled to come out for another month.

If you are a blogger, you have probably already heard about Performancing.com. If you haven’t yet, or have procrastinated on checking out the site, you really need to go there this very instant.

You simply HAVE to check out this video of what might be the best game ever, which I found via the blog of my friend Chris. The game is called Spore and it looks absolutely incredible.

I was just reading the blog of Warren Ellis and came across a very funny little discussion between Ellis and Joss Whedon occuring in the comments of one of the posts.

I highly HIGHLY recommend you go over to Podiobooks and subscribe to the novel How To Disappear Completely: The Terrible Business of Salmon and Dusk by Myke Bartlett. It is strongly written, with interesting characters, and a story that reaches out, grabs you and pulls you along for a twisted ride through the dark alleyways of London.

I have been going in cycles with my blogging and have been in a downturn of late. I actually am working on a few interesting entries for you folks, but I’ve just been so damn busy and distracted.

I just discovered via Boing Boing that Google has added a Creative Commons License field (labeled as “Usage Rights”) to their advanced search capabilities. This means you can search for material available under Creative Commons, even by which rights the license offers.

Hey, bloggers! If you haven’t yet, you should register your site with the Truth Laid Bear, a rather unique and cool blog portal and search engine. Even if you don’t, you may find it a pretty useful way to find new blogs, and I find it simpler to sift through the data presented than on Technocrati.

I found this fun little escape puzzle game online. It actually isn’t too difficult and it is a lot of fun to play. Check it out!

I just found out about this game called Urban Dead from a post on Boing Boing. Urban Dead is an MMO that runs in your browser. It’s actually pretty low tech, but fun in a weird way.
